How it's calculated
lb/ac = seeds per acre ÷ seeds per pound. In-row seed spacing (in) = 12 × row-feet per acre ÷ seeds per acre, where row-feet per acre = 43,560 ÷ row spacing in feet. Established stand = seeds per acre × germination % × emergence %.
Seeds per pound is the seed-size number on the bag (or seeds per bag ÷ bag weight). It varies a lot by variety, so use the tag for accurate pounds.
Row Wise turns your seeding plan into variable-rate planting prescriptions by zone and tracks how your stand actually establishes.

How do I convert seeds per acre to pounds per acre?
Divide your target seeds per acre by the seeds-per-pound figure for that seed lot (on the seed tag). Bigger seed means more pounds for the same seed count.
What germination and emergence should I assume?
Use the germination % from the seed tag, then discount for field emergence — often 80–92% of germinable seed actually establishes, depending on seedbed, moisture and planting depth.
Does this work for cotton and sorghum?
Yes — use the crop presets to load typical seed size and row spacing, then adjust to your seed tag and planter. It works for any row crop where you plant a seed count.
